Tall Ships Liverpool 2008 again. This is the same ship as the shot below as it passed in front of the Three Graces. It was a shame that when the parade happened they came past one by one in line. I was hoping for some sort of 'Armada' type scene in front of the pier head.

Tall ships Liverpool 2008 again. This one was sailing towards Eastham to line up before the parade. Looked quite piognant to see this beautiful sailing vessel against the backdrop of an oil refinery which ultimately was the reason for the demise of its kind. You can also see the filth that is pouring out from this place constantly, maybe sail and taking a little bit more time was not such a bad thing!

Tall Ships Parade 2008, 21st July and what a day it turned out to be following weeks of, frankly, bloody awful weather. The sun came out, the wind didn't quite go away which meant most of the ships were not in sail but very pleasant all the same. It was great to see New Brighton with thousands of people walking around, reminded me of when I was a child going to the funfairs and the bathing pool.

Taken just 3 days before the tall ships parade at high tide, New Brighton, Wirral, UK. What a wash out it could all have been! However even so it was a great day, warm(ish) howling gale, loads of fun and a wet camera to boot. The power of the elements was on full display, Awesome!!

Taken 29/04/08, the week after I lost my mun, I just decided to take a ferry over the Mersey and enjoy the ride. Took a few shots and bought them back to have a go at my new HDR software. This Liverpool waterfront was about the best of the bunch, must say thanks here to Dave Nightingale at Chromasia and Pete Carr at VanillaDays for introducing me to this new world.

Same ferry ride as above and yes, more HDR , on this one I was experimenting with zooming whilst we boarded more passengers at Seacombe Ferry . I imagine this one as a large wall hanging in a Liverpool office or hotel.

Taken 17/09/05 at 06.56 from Wallasey, Wirral, UK. A dawn view of the Liverpool skyline. It was quite a chilly morning but there were some great shots to be had.

Taken the same morning as the shot above, a different lens, a few minutes and a completely different result. A new dawn for Liverpool. Having been granted the status of European Capital of Culture for 2008 together with Stavangar in Norway, things were well underway and the skyline was and is constantly changing. A photograph captures a single moment in time never to be repeated.

Taken 24/03/05, this was the 2044th shot I ever took digitally using my Canon 10D. I call this 'The World In One City'. It took a good deal of precarious leaning to get the angle needed too!

A view of the Liverpool waterfront when you could see pretty much all of it. Taken 21/02/06, I just happened to be around Birkenhead this winters afternoon with my camera and could see the sun dipping underneath the black clouds across to Wales so I legged it down to Woodside. I only had to wait a few minutes before this scene exploded. The image doesn't actually capture the reflections very well from the windows but the sky honestly was that colour!

Taken 23/10/05, I took the camera for a stroll along the beach at Red Rocks in Hoylake, Wirral. The sky was looking ominous yet everything around was calm. This image of Hilbre Island started out with the sky in shot as well but this crop looked so much more effective that it had to be discarded.
